Fundraising

As parents of a Travel Athlete, we recognize the costs associated with competing at that level. Hockey is no exception and, in fact, is one of, if not the, most expensive travel sports and youth sports in general.  Between Ice time, private lessons, league costs, tournament costs, coach fees, equipment, overnight stays in hotels, flights and other expenses, the costs can rapidly increase and impact families and the athlete themselves. In addition, most teams ask parents to make additional contributions to a team fund to cover various costs throughout the season. Last year, we were talking with friends on different travel teams and heard how difficult fundraising was because no one had the time to do it right, it was too difficult, or it put a burden on the team to acquire items at a cost to the team to then sell or auction. 

In an effort to give back to the sport and to all the teams in the Hockey community, we decided to make fundraising easy. Penalty Box Coffee will provide teams with a dedicated Code for each team. For every bag bought with the team Code, that team will receive back 15% of the price of the coffee on all sales through January 15 each year. (We have to have a cutoff date so we can process the payments to the team within the season.) It’s that simple! No need to sell candy bars or magazines or beg for donations outside the local grocery store. Just ask people to buy a product they already use, they'll get great coffee, and then voila - money into the team fund.
